has described his Dancing with the Stars
experience as a "wonderful ride".
The Super Bowl champion and partner Kym Johnson will enter tonight's final episode of the 12th season joint top of the leader board following their two performances on Monday night's instalment.
"Kym took someone who has never danced before and we somehow got to the finals. It's been a wonderful ride," he told On The Red Carpet
"I had never danced [and] here I am in the finals. I'm just glad to be in the finals with Kirstie and Chelsea because they are performers and kind of natural at this."
According to Entertainment Weekly
, Ward added to reporters backstage that he felt like he had "already won" because he had proven to America that he could dance.
The pair ended last night's show with a total of 59 points out of 60 for their judges' choice quickstep and freestyle, putting them in pole position alongside Chelsea Kane and her partner Mark Ballas.
"I hope everyone enjoyed our dances as much as we did," wrote Johnson on her Twitter account after the show. "It was such an amazing night and thanks for all your support every week xoxo. (sic)"Dancing with the Stars
