'Chuck' star Yvonne Strahovski joins 'Dexter'

Yvonne Strahovski has been cast in the upcoming seventh season of Dexter.

The Chuck star will appear in the show for a multi-episode arc, TVLine reports.



Her character, Hannah McKay, is described as a strong, independent woman who is struggling to leave her past behind her, and is enlisted to help Miami Metro Homicide on some old, unsolved cases.

In the course of working with her, Dexter (Michael C Hall) begins to wonder if there's more to Hannah than meets the eye.

Other recurring actors announced for the upcoming season include Luck star Jason Gedrick, Rome actor Ray Stevenson and Avatar actor Matt Gerald, playing a strip club owner, gangster and violent criminal respectively.

The show's executive producer Scott Buck recently confirmed that the first episode of season seven will deal with last season's cliffhanger ending.
