Current showrunner Alan Ball recently announced his intention to step down at the end of the show's fifth season as he steps up work on new crime drama Banshee for HBO's sister network Cinemax.

I'm sure I read here on DigitalSpy that FX had agreed to show it earlier, which meant we might get it here as early as late summer. Which still isn't good enough for me, I can't see why it can't be a few days after the States, a lot of people like the idea of US programmes coming to us more frequently. True Blood must be one of the most pirated tv shows around, you would think that everyone concerned with the show would do as much as possible to limit it being pirated.

Can't wait to see Season 5.
Congrats to Mark Hudris. I'm sure he'll do a great job after Alan Ball, who was great too.
