'True Blood' season five - first pictures revealed

The first images from True Blood's fifth season have been revealed.

The pictures include new cast members Chris Meloni (Law and Order: SVU), Scott Foley (Grey's Anatomy) and Lucy Griffiths (Robin Hood).

Meloni's character is reportedly an ancient and powerful vampire, while Griffiths will also be playing a new vampire.

Foley's role has been kept more under wraps, but he has hinted that he does not play either a werewolf or a vampire.

It has been confirmed that showrunner Alan Ball will step down following the fifth season.

The season premiere of True Blood will begin on HBO on Sunday, June 10.
