'House': Amber Tamblyn to return for finale

Amber Tamblyn will return for the series finale of House.The actress confirmed her return as medical student Martha Masters to TVLine yesterday.

Tamblyn said that executive producer David Shore had asked her by email whether she wanted to reprise her role, to which she had responded: "Duh."
Olivia Wilde is already confirmed to be returning as Thirteen for the show's final episode, which is entitled 'Everybody Dies'.
Kal Penn is also rumoured to be in talks to return as House's deceased fellow Kutner. Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy) has ruled out an appearance, as has Jennifer Morrison (Cameron).
Tamblyn appeared in 14 episodes of the show's seventh season, and made her exit in 'Last Temptation'.

The series finale of House airs on Fox on May 21.

Great to hear it, Amber was one of the best parts of Series 8 in its opening half and it was a huge shame to see her character depart the show so soon (even if Charline Yi has served as a good replacement as Dr Park over time), so it'll be good to see her back in the finale. I'm not sure what I think about the idea of Cutner returning, but again I'm open to it and at least having Thirteen back too will be exciting. Much as Robert Sean Leonard advocates otherwise in the Cuddy article released by DS today, I would like to see most of the character arcs resolved in 'Everybody Dies'- please let's not have a parting shot of the team getting ready for their next case. It's not like everyone has to die at once, but there needs to be some harrowing consequences in the final episode, and in some ways you can imagine how effective the death of Dr House would be...
