Her much-loved track 'I Will Always Love You' will be covered by Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones) in the musical comedy's February 14 episode, but a representative for 20th Century Fox has revealed that the instalment may be altered to give more focus to Houston in the wake of her death.
A Glee source told E!: "Yes, we are trying [to do a tribute]. The episode had been locked but we are going back in."

However, it has been speculated that the tribute could amount to a simple title card before or after the episode in homage to Houston.
Riley herself is among the host of celebrities to mourn the loss of Houston, writing on Twitter: "I can't even breathe right now. Not Whitney. I'm in tears right now... I had to pull over off the road. RIP Whitney Houston. I'm glad now that I got to meet you and thank you for your beautiful music."
Referring to the announcement that Jennifer Hudson will pay tribute to Houston at tonight's Grammy Awards, she added: "I would have been honoured to sing a tribute to her at The Grammys but honestly I don't think I would have made it w/o crying."

Listen to Glee star Amber Riley cover Whitney Houston's 'I Will Love You' below:

trying not to sound mean saying this, but why does it have to be Amber Riley who sings it? I know she's the predictable choice but there are other singers who have the range. Wish they had brought charice in to sing it or even had lea michele. but I am biased because I will fully admit I don't like Mercedes any more. However, nice tribute whatever they decide, they should do a tribute ep at some point.

Oh, blimey. This song was already covered before her death!

The Valentine's Day episode of Glee completed filming on January 31, and already included a cover version of 'I Will Always Love You'.... which was written by Dolly Parton, to whom the rights of the song belong to. Glee is a musical show, with performers who looked up to Whitney Houston and viewers who aspired to be like her, so it is appropriate they her acknowledge her success and untimely passing somehow.
