Lexa Doig (Stargate SG-1) will play a doctor on the Canadian sci-fi spinoff, GateWorld reports.
The Andromeda actress will reportedly appear in the show's two-part season finale.
Eureka star Colin Ferguson has also been cast in an unspecified part, while Andrew-Lee Potts - who played Connor in the original UK Primeval - will reprise his role late in the first season.
Also cast in the show's premiere run are Louis Ferreira (Stargate Universe) and Dan Payne (The Cabin in the Woods).
Niall Matter - who plays hero Evan Cross - recently claimed that Primeval: New World has a "harder edge" than the original series.
The series will air on Watch in the UK and Space in Canada. It is currently unclear if ITV will broadcast the show.

I'm looking at posts from July 2012 and am a little confused; here in the US we have watched through Season 6 and I was hoping for more; Season 6 allows for those who like closure, but totally leaves it open for more. I would like to be able to watch the spin off as much as UK people!!! I can't wait. I wish they would keep some of the original cast at least through the first season. I loved them ALL!!

I believe you are mistaken. There are only 5 seasons/series of the UK show. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808096/

Primeval ended quite conclusively with the series 5 finale (the best series by far!) but this seems like a nice way to keep us badly-treated UK fans happy and enables ITV to carry on making the type of trashy shows they obviously prefer putting money into. Canadians seem to have made all the best Sci-fi of late: Lost Girl , Todd, Sanctuary (which was quite Primeval-ish) - all really good shows, with strong production values. So I have quite high hopes for this! : )

It's wasn't very conclusive, really, not with Matt's surprise from the future in the last few seconds.

An interesting cast lineup, good names :) I look forward to seeing it, though really wish that they'd give us news on season 6

I bet they'll change the title to Primeval: Miracle Day and it won't be as good, yet still enjoyable to watch.
