The Carrie Diaries is a prequel to HBO's hit series Sex and the City about four best friends who confide in each other about their relationships and sex lives while living in New York.
Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz is behind that show and another of the promoted pilots, Cult.
Arrow is a superhero drama starring Stephen Amell (The Vampire Diaries) as comic character Oliver Queen / Green Arrow, while First Cut is about young medic Emily (Mamie Gummer) as she navigates her tricky early days as a new doctor.
Cult tells the story of a string of mysterious disappearances linked to a television show, also titled Cult.
Beauty and the Beast is an updated version of the fairy tale, with Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) playing tough NYPD detective Catherine and Terra Nova's Jay Ryan appearing as 'beast' Vincent Koslow, the survivor of a botched military experiment.

OK, why is Beauty and the Beast being remade?! It was a so-so 3-season drama in the late 80's and didn't warrant another go at it. I suspect The Carrie Dairies will be very tame - due to being on the CW - compared to its "sequel" SaTC that was on HBO, which will make it pointless really. Also, how can Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow not be played by Justin Hartley? :-) Casting mishap there, surely?!

Cult is the only one of those series I will be checking out. It was created by the same producer who created the sci-fi series Farscape.

Don't know how I feel about The Carrie Diaries. I am a huge Sex and the City fan, but the show is made by the actresses who play the characters.
