Smash has added another new series regular for season two.
Theatre actor Andy Mientus will play the role of Brooklyn resident Kyle on the NBC drama, TVLine reports.
Down on his luck and dreaming of Broadway stardom, Kyle is good friends with another new character named Jimmy (Jeremy Jordan).
Mientus is a newcomer to television, but his stage credits include productions of Carrie and Spring Awakening.
Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson has also signed up to appear in Smash season two as a Tony-winning Broadway star, while Jaime Cepero (Ellis), Raza Jaffrey (Dev), Brian D'Arcy James (Frank) and Will Chase (Michael) will not return to the show.
Smash will return to NBC in 2013 and airs on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
