Homeland execs Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa have promised that Carrie's memory will return. The CIA agent (Claire Danes) was subjected to ECT treatment in the first-season finale, moments after recalling the link between Brody (Damian Lewis) and Issa, the son of terrorist Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban).

"It's not going to happen in the way that you think," Gordon told Vulture. "But it is going to happen."
Co-showrunner Gansa also hinted that viewers will see Carrie in a "centred, healthy place" when the second season begins.
"[Carrie] has been through a course of psychotherapy, and ECT, so she's sought and gotten the professional help that she hasn't had in years," he explained. "[She's in a state] which we haven't seen her in before."
The pair also suggested that Brody's daughter Dana (Morgan Saylor) will grow suspicious of her father following the events of 'Marine One'.
"She's processed a lot," said Gordon. "We don't quite know what she thinks of that last call she made to him, so we'll find out!"
Homeland will return to Showtime in the US on September 30. Channel 4 has picked up the rights to air season two in the UK, with a late 2012 broadcast planned.

It should have been a one-off series with a beginning-middle-and end all in one season. season two will fall flat or just go overboard. i miss mini-series, why does everything have to have a season two, three, four....? Yeah, i know, money, and cashing in on a rare ratings winner, but it always ends badly.

And this is why the next series will be bad. Writers sharing too much.
The last series ended badly, the next series will be a pigs breakfast.

It's the same with all American shows they have a plan to make so many episodes but then if the show gets big they just drag it out(prison break, dexter). Homeland ending was a joke and I for one won't be watching te second season

You don't know what you are talking about. This was NOT conceived as a mini-series. The plan was for a 12-episode FIRST season with the hope that more seasons would follow if the broadcaster was happy with the show.

I have to respectfully disagree with you that all shows should end after one season. Homeland is one of the best shows on TV ever and certainly there are enough ongoing stories to tell about terrorist activity going on in the world. I will agree with you to the extent that sometimes shows will stay on the air after they've gotten stale, but I don't think you can say that as a general rule, and its a very individualized thing. Once the writers cannot come up with good original stories any longer, its definitely time for a show to end.
But Homeland is still just beginning its journey and I hope that its with us for many years.
