'Once Upon a Time' exec wants Little Mermaid, Jasmine for season two

Once Upon a Time producer Jane Espenson has named Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Goldilocks and Aladdin's Princess Jasmine as some of the characters that may appear in season two.

Espenson confirmed that discussions had been held with the show's creative team about "a whole lot of princesses" that could feature in upcoming episodes.















"I would hope Ariel would join the show," TV Line quotes her as saying. "She's one we've definitely talked about. There are a whole lot of princesses we haven't seen - like Aurora [of Sleeping Beauty], Rapunzel and Jasmine.

"And it's hard to look at that list without going, 'Well, what about Goldilocks?' And they'd all be good, because what we do is take them and go, 'Well, the thing you never knew about Little Miss Muffet is...'"

Espenson also reiterated that Once Upon a Time will be a "different" show when it returns following the twist in the first season finale.

"We're picking up right where we left off, but where we left off was in the middle of a veer in a different direction," she explained. "Season two will be different than season one."

Once Upon a Time currently airs Sundays in the UK on Channel 5.
