NBC has ordered additional scripts for new paranormal drama Grimm.

Two extra scripts have been requested from the series, which stars David Giuntoli as homicide detective Nick Burkhardt, according to Deadline.

Grimm debuted with an impressive 6.5m viewers last month, up against the seventh game in the Major League Baseball World Series.

Ratings for the show have slipped since, though it still ranks as one of NBC's highest-rated scripted shows in the key 18-49 demographic.

Silas Weir Mitchell, who plays werewolf Monroe, recently described Grimm as "the anti-Twilight".

The series will debut in the UK in early 2012, airing on UKTV's digital channel Watch.
