'The Good Wife' signs Bill Heck for guest role

Bill Heck has signed up for a role in the third season of The Good Wife.

The actor will play a Legal Aid lawyer on the CBS drama, according to New York Magazine.

The character will present an award to Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) for her pro bono work, with a "hint of attraction" developing between the pair.

Heck has previously appeared in episodes of NCIS, The Closer and CSI: NY.

He also recently starred in the Broadway revival of Angels in America and will make his Good Wife debut in October.

Other stars recently confirmed to be appearing on The Good Wife include Dazed and Confused's Parkey Posey, Source Code actor Michael Arden and Torch Song Trilogy's Harvey Fierstein.

The series returns to CBS on Sunday, September 25.
