Sarah Michelle Gellar drama Ringer has struggled in the ratings, with audience numbers falling as low as 1.05m.
Executive producer Pam Veasey recently said about the show: "It was not... I guess you could use the word 'accessible'.
"[If we did it again] we'd make it more accessible for people who just drop in, probably do less in an episode. And what I mean by that is make it less complex in the plotting."
Despite its difficulties, Veasey had been optimistic about getting a second season.
Gossip Girl, Nikita and freshman series Hart of Dixie, however, have all been renewed for another season.
Elsewhere, the network has given full season orders to five new shows, including Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries and comic book adaptation Arrow.

I loved "Ringer" and "Secret Circle" and am disappointed there will be no more series - same thing has happened to "Alcatraz" and "Awake" which I also loved - it seems pointless sometimes watching these US dramas as just when you're hooked, they cancel the series!

What the hell is wrong with American Studios Secret Circle was fantastic, they always seen to cancel the best shows, they must make millions from overseas, but that does not seem to count in there decisions. Not happy.

I like alot of USTV series and Ringer was truly one of the best newcomers. Something should have been worked out to keep it going

This was the best drama to come out of the US since desperate housewives. I don't understand why utter tripe with so so actors such as 90210 and vampire diaries get decommissioned but yet good stuff like ringer with quality actors such as SMG get scrapped so ridiculous. Let's hope another network correct the CW mistake if not move to the UK the BBC could do with more great drama :-)

Personally I think they should have just cancelled The Vampire Diaries instead of Ringer. THAT is a load of tripe
