has confessed that she feels sorry for her Game of Thrones
co-star Jack Gleeson.
The actress, who plays Sansa on the HBO series, insisted that Gleeson, who portrays the evil King Joffrey, is a sweetheart in real life.
"I kind of wish he would do more television interviews so that people can see what he's really like, because there is so much hate for Joffrey, I feel protective of Jack now," Turner told Vulture
"If I were him, I'd be petrified that people would come up and slap me on the street!" she continued. "I should be his bodyguard."
The 16-year-old went on to say that people on set often try to make her laugh while she is shooting the torture scenes.> Game of Thrones 'Blackwater' review: The show's greatest episode?
"The way I stop myself from going into a depressed stage during those scenes is that the other actors and the crew all try to keep me happy," Turner said. "Like in season one, when I had to beg for mercy for my father? That's when Conleth [Hill, who portrays Varys] decided to pull a few faces at me, to distract me.
"And Peter [Dinklage, who plays Tyrion], every time I work with him, I can't help but be inspired and think, 'Wow, what a great actor'," she concluded.
A list of new characters
