Liam Cunningham joins 'Game of Thrones' cast

has signed up for a role in the second season of Game of Thrones
Cunningham will star as Davos Seaworth, Entertainment Weekly
Davos is a former smuggler who was nicknamed 'The Onion Knight' after passing food into Stannis Baratheon's castle during a siege.
Stannis knighted Davos for his triumph, but also shortened his fingers because of his past as a criminal.
In the second season of Game of Thrones
, Stannis asks Davos to help him take over the Iron Throne.
Cunningham recently appeared in the British drama Outcasts
, which was dropped after one season
He has also appeared in shows such as Camelot
and has worked on movies including The Wind That Shakes the Barley
, Clash of the Titans
Cunningham is the latest star to sign up for season two of Game of Thrones
after Carice van Houten and Stephen Dillane
landed the roles of Melisandre and Stannis.Natalie Dormer was recently cast as Margaery Tyrell
, while Gwendoline Christie signed up to play Brienne
.Game of Thrones
will return next spring.
