'The X Factor' USA gets ITV2 launch date, airing day after US broadcast

The X Factor USA will receive a UK transmission the day after it airs in the US, ITV has confirmed.Simon Cowell makes his judging comeback alongside Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Antonio 'LA' Reid. As with the UK competition, the American version offers singers over the age of 12 and groups the chance to compete for a $5m recording contract.
Hosted by Welsh presenter Steve Jones, The X Factor USA will kick off on ITV2 with a two-hour double bill on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23.

It had previously been suggested that the UK broadcast could be delayed, in order to avoid having the series run alongside the UK edition, which ends its auditions process with a double-bill this weekend.
Cowell has confirmed that axed judge Cheryl Cole will feature in the opening episode of The X Factor USA. The Girls Aloud star has appeared briefly on the panel in some of the promotional material released.
The X Factor USA premieres in the US on September 21 at 8pm ET on Fox, and in the UK on September 22 at 8pm on ITV2.
'Collide' singer Leona Lewis has confirmed that she will perform on both versions of The X Factor.
