The Vampire Diaries actress played the role of Maggie in the AMC drama's second run.
The character - a love interest for Glenn (Steven Yeun) - will appear full-time in the forthcoming third season, reports TVLine.
David Morrissey will also star in the new episodes as the villainous Governor, while Treme actress Danai Gurira will appear as popular comic character Michonne.
The third season will be set in the town of Woodbury, with producers hoping to film scenes in the city of Senoia, Georgia throughout 2012 and possibly into 2013.
The Walking Dead will return to AMC in fall 2012. In the UK, the series airs on FX.

Shane Moran In the comics, I believe she does have the baby. Then again, the show and the comics have been just different enough to keep us all guessing. Also, you may be aware by now that Michael Rookery has essentially confirmed that he will be back in S03 as Daryl's brother, Merle Dixon. Daryl is not who he used to be, so that meeting should make for great TV. :)

Chris Christou It would certainly be nothing we've seen before on tv or in a movie - Alien doesnt count :-)

Shane Moran That hadn't even crossed my mind, but it seems so obvious now that you've said it. It's pretty morbid, but I think that that's what will happen now.

Chris Christou I've often thought about if everyone is already infected....then what would happen if Lori carried the baby to near full term.....then had some kind of accident where she lost the baby and it died.....what would happen then???!! Think about it!
