The zombie drama's next run will see Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the other survivors reach a colony run by the Governor (David Morrissey).
Walking Dead producers are hoping to film scenes for the new episodes in the city of Senoia, Georgia, according to Zap2it.
If a deal is struck, Senoia will serve as the show's chief shooting location throughout 2012 and possibly into 2013.
Treme actress Danai Gurira will appear in the AMC show's third season as popular comic character Michonne.
The second season finale broke records for the cable network, attracting an audience of 9 million viewers.
The Walking Dead will return to AMC in fall 2012. In the UK, the series airs on FX.

I know that the series departs from the comic quite a lot, so I hope they don't kill of Lori! I know her Character is so annoying but I think the show would be weird without her :L.

According to the comic books the prison is found first including a few inmates, but they soon discover Woodsbury close by ran by the evil Governer. Eventually the Woodsbury mob attack the prison and Lori and unborn child dies.
However, that is the comic book version and as seen with the TV version, the locations and characters are brought over but the storylines often go far off track (for example, in the comics, Dale and Andrea have a full blown relationship rather than a father/daughter one and that clearly didn't happen, while Shane died at the original Atlanta camp in season 1, while Otis was meant to live and stay behind at Hershal's farm at the end).
At the end of the day this is what makes the TV show all the more exciting because it gives the comic book stories, but twists and turns them around so you don't fully know what to expect.
