The actress told Parade that Lori's affair with Shane (Jon Bernthal) and the complications it poses to her relationship with husband Rick (Andrew Lincoln) will come to the forefront in upcoming episodes.
"The love triangle is an enormous part of this season. Again it goes to evolving ethics. Is it an act of mercy or cowardice not to tell Rick about what happened with Shane? Rick has taken a lot of responsibility to save these people and he's starting to crack a little under that pressure," Callies explained.

"For me to add more to his plate might very well push him over the edge. On the other hand, things between Lori and Shane, things get better and worse, and she can't help feeling Rick will figure it out and should hear it from her first."
Callies added that viewers can expect Lori to toughen up and get out on the front lines of protecting the refugees from zombie attacks as well.
"Lori will have to pick up arms this season as the threats grow. I think she is somebody who, before all of this started, would have known how to shoot a gun because they had a house and Rick would never have his guns in the house without Lori having a sense of how it works," she said.
"Pacifist is too strong a word for her, but I don't think Lori likes guns or using guns."
Callies has confessed that working on The Walking Dead often gives her nightmares.
The Walking Dead continues this Sunday at 9/8c on AMC in the US, and airs on Fridays at 10pm on FX in the UK.

She definitely has a bun in the oven from her dalliance with Shane, but I still don't think the scientist told Rick his wife is pregnant. Since S2 began he has not acted like a man who's wife is pregnant, especially one who would have to have doubts the baby is his. And he's shown none of the concern a husband normally does for their wife's physical well being when he finds out they are with child. So no, I don't think Rick has a clue Lori is pregnant. Eventually, she will obviously have to tell him, unless she miscarries and soon. The big question then will be does she just tell him she's pregnant and see if he just assumes it's his, or does she make a full confession and tell him that she's probably carrying his best friend's love child. If the latter, I think Rick may get "upset."
