executive Stephen Nathan
has branded Brennan and Booth as a "phenomenal couple".
The showrunner teased that there are more opportunities for the characters - played by Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz - to enter a committed relationship now that they have a baby together.
"She is fiercely independent. Still is," he told TV Guide
. "But they are... a phenomenal couple. You just want to see how they're dealing with it. You pull for them to be a couple just as much you used to."
Deschanel added that if the pair do get married, it will be Booth that has to propose.
"She's not going to ask right away," the actress said. "She has no problem asking him, but I think it's more of saving face. It's like, 'OK, I'm going to wait because if I ask right away, that might seem weak'."
Nathan has also insisted that Bones
will remain "a murder show"
now that its main characters are parents. Bones
airs Monday as 8/7c on Fox. It returns to UK screens on April 18 on Sky Living. > Bones renewed for season eight by Fox
