showrunner Hart Hanson
has suggested that he is open to doing another crossover episode provided that it is feasible and the network wants it
The Fox crime drama previously aired a crossover episode featuring Stewie Griffin from Family Guy
as part of the storyline about Agent Booth's brain tumour.
Speaking to Digital Spy
, he said: "Crossovers come up all the time as a possibility. For a while we were talking about doing a Lie To Me
crossover. I always thought a Fringe
crossover could work if we started at the same crime scene."
He continued to say that it is "difficult" to arrange such episodes because the two shows have to agree on factors including location and timing.
However, he added: "We are open to crossovers and if the network wants it and has the will for it to make it happen, then we are up for it."
Hanson also shared that SpongeBob SquarePants had been his initial choice of character for the Family Guy
episode but that another producer had suggested Stewie Griffin instead.
"That was a lucky, fortuitous thing," he explained. "We'd done this research on the tumour Booth actually had and one of the symptoms was you see animated characters... We called up Seth [MacFarlane] and he was all for it."Bones
