The executive producers of Bones
have admitted that they are unsure what will happen to the show's characters in the future.
In the 100th episode of the series, Dr Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) told Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz
) that she does not want a romantic relationship with him.
"We did accomplish a great prequel [to the Booth and Brennan story]," producer Barry Josephson told Zap2It
. "And now... where do we go?"
His fellow producer Ian Toynton said: "I'm looking forward to finding that out as well, because I actually don't know. You'll have to ask [creator] Hart [Hanson] where it's going to go. Wherever it does go, I'm sure it'll be as good as it has been, if not better. That's what we're aiming for."
Toynton also claimed that the season finale, which he directed, is "emotional".
"Like all of the shows, there's a balance," he explained. "A wonderful balance between the emotional side which really does touch you and moments of laughter, which I think is a very clever balance where the writing is so good on the show."> Deschanel: 'Bones fans want me to cry'
