"This [deal] is about me creating my next show," Lindelof said in an interview with Deadline.
"Movie life is nice and different, but I missed the energy and excitement of doing series television... I'm ready to come back to TV full-time."
Since the last episode of Lost aired in 2010, Lindelof has been involved in the development of several high-profile movies, including Prometheus, the upcoming Star Trek 2 and 1952, a sci-fi adventure written by Lindelof and to be directed by Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol helmer Brad Bird.
Lindelof expressed an interest in creating programmes for cable television as well as for the networks.
He also claimed that he "won't be the person to come up with the next Lost", adding that he is not interested in making more shows with "wackadoo mythology".

What do you mean "the way lost turned out"?

You know, the greatest show ever made. It takes alot of nerve to try and top that.

I was a huge Lost fan, but they have to admit they tried to wing it and it should have stopped after 3 or 4 seasons. People asked season 1 are they dead? No No No they said and while they were not dead it did result at the end in saying they all died at some point and then they just go to heaven together! WTF!

As long as he stays away from comics. We don't want him! He was doing a miniseries (Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine) and managed to miss his writing deadline so spectacularly there was a delay of 3 and a half years between issues on a bimonthly series...
