A source for the network told Deadline that the show will feature "teams of celebrities and everyday users [testing] their skills in front of a studio audience to earn money and big laughs".
The insider added: "Viewers can also play along at home for a chance to win prizes and compete with the celebrities."
This is not the first time CBS has attempted to adapt a digital property to the small screen - in 2010 it produced $#*! My Dad Says, a sitcom based on the Twitter feed of the same name. The show was cancelled in May 2011.
Draw Something has enjoyed huge success since its launch earlier this year. After 50 days on release, the game had been downloaded 50 million times, making it the fastest growing mobile game in history.
Developer OMGPOP was bought by game giant Zynga for $200m (£126m) in March. However, a significant drop in users in April led to Zynga's stock price declining by 50% after the purchase.

I used to play iSketch on the PC a lot. I did play DrawSomething for a while but have given up on it. I would be more inclined to play iSketch though
