Danny Pudi on Community: 'This show deserves a ton of Emmys'

Danny Pudi has revealed that he and the cast and crew of Community still hold out hope that the show will gain awards recognition this year.

The actor stars as Abed alongside Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown, Chevy Chase, Joel McHale, Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs on the NBC comedy about a group of community college students.

Community has enjoyed critical success as well as a devoted fanbase, despite rumours of cancellation due to low ratings. It was recently renewed for a fourth season.

Pudi told TVLine that he is still optimistic that the comedy will be recognised in the coming Emmy awards.

He says: "Do I think we deserve some Emmys? Of course! This show deserves a ton of Emmys. Will it get them? I don't know.

"We'll never give up, but we're very much aware that we might not get acknowledged - and that's okay. Still, I'll be really happy if we do."

Community recently led the nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Awards, receiving a nod for 'Best Comedy Series'.
