Smallville star Kristin Kreuk in Beauty and the Beast - watch video

The CW has released a clip from new drama Beauty and the Beast.The show is a loose update of the '80s CBS series of the same name, which starred Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman.
In the update, Smallville star Kristin Kreuk will play tough NYPD detective Catherine, while Terra Nova's Jay Ryan has been cast as 'beast' Vincent Koslow.
Brian White (The Shield), Max Brown (Spooks), Austin Basis (Life Unexpected), Nicole Gale Anderson (Ringer) and Nina Lisandrello (Nurse Jackie) will also star.

im not too sure this about this one, i think there is some intrigue for me to watch it but i dont think it will satisfy me enough week after week. i personally dont think it will last longer than 1 or 2 seasons.

I'm actually really disappointed that 'the beast' is less beast, more half hulk, half werewolf...and probably handsome doctor most of the time.
I loved the Linda Hamilton/Ron Perlman show, and part of it's strength was the fact that Ron Perlman's beast was just that, a beast and Linda Hamilton's Catherine could see through the strange appearance.
Besides that, I like Kristen Kreuk, but seriously Kristen Kreuk as a "tough NYPD detective"?
