Sarah Palin on guest-hosting 'Today': 'NBC is bold for asking me'

Sarah Palin has said she appreciates the opportunity to guest host NBC's Today.The former Alaska governor will sit in with Matt Lauer for the 8am hour on Tuesday's edition of the morning show to discuss the day's top headlines.

Palin previewed her Today appearance by calling into the programme on Monday (April 2) to praise NBC for showing "boldness" by asking her to guest host.
"I think [this] reflects the diversity of opinions [that] I heard that you all espoused, so I appreciate it," the politician said.
Lauer also teased Palin by referencing her 2008 interview with Katie Couric, where the politician appeared to struggle to name her favourite newspaper.
"What are you doing to prepare? Are you reading some newspapers?" Lauer quipped.
Palin jokingly shot back: "Ohhh… Here we go!'
It has also been announced that Palin will be taking part in the chatshow's daily Today's Professionals segment in addition to reading the news.
The former Sarah Palin's Alaska star will be appearing on Today on the same morning that Couric guest-anchors ABC's Good Morning America.
Couric famously served as a Today host for 15 years before leaving the Peacock Network in 2006.

I simply can’t believe the show is lowering itself to these TV Trash standards. I was never Couric’s fault that Sarah Palin has the education level of a 4th grader and the world knowledge of a hermit crab. They’re buying into the political circus for ratings and it’s a damn shame. Of course, Sarah will do ANYTHING for money and attention. The dollars will rain down as she gives them another sneak peek at what’s under that dress.
