CBS has officially picked up a new sitcom from Rob Schneider
The currently untitled project will debut on the network in 2012, according to Entertainment Weekly
The series, based on Schneider's own life
, will focus on a bachelor who marries into a large Mexican-American family.
A pilot, written by Schneider and regular collaborator Lewis Morton, was originally picked up
back in February.
CBS later ordered additional scripts on the proviso that segments of the pilot episode be re-shot
with new cast members.
The final version of the show will also star Cheech Marin and Lupe Ontiveros and will be executive produced by Schneider, Morton and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.
CBS is also developing a new comedy
