Suits stars Gabriel Macht as a successful lawyer who hires a brilliant college drop-out (Patrick J Adams), while Necessary Roughness stars Callie Thorne as celebrity therapist Dr. Dani Santino.
"The outlook is sunny [for a season two pick-up]," Chris McCumber told Entertainment Weekly at the Television Critics Association press tour.
Co-president Jeff Wachtel added: "The future is so bright, we feel like wearing shades."
The most recent episode of Necessary Roughness pulled in 4.2m viewers, while the latest instalment of Suits attracted 4.4m.
"We're just thrilled," said Wachtel. "[Both shows have] exceeded all expectations at this point."
Necessary Roughness continues on Wednesdays at 10/9c, while Suits airs the following night, also at 10/9c.

I gotta love NR just for Dani not being moronic about kicking out the cheating ex and leaving him out. Also like that Matt isn't sitting around pining for Dani--meaning he's a normal guy, though Blucas makes it clear he's still interested. (Brooks does great with his T.K. character and Cohen makes you forget his mild Gilmore Girls guy.) And Suits is just plain good fun to watch.

Suits really is a fantastic show. I am continually impressed with what the writers and actors have done with these first seven episodes. Especially tonight's epsidode!
