Mehcad Brooks: 'Necessary Roughness role rich but lonely'

The actor plays Terrence 'TK' King, a star football player who is ordered to attend therapy sessions with Dani Santino (Callie Thorne) when his life begins to spiral out of control.
"[Our relationship] continues to build [and] it gets more complicated," Brooks told TV Guide. "It [also] gets inappropriate, at least from TK's side, where he [starts to act] like [he's] a member of her family."
Brooks also explained that Necessary Roughness will continue to explore TK's loneliness as the first season continues.
"He doesn't have a family," said the actor. "Maybe he has $80 million, but he's very lonely. You never know what's going on inside of somebody, just because you idolise what they do."
Brooks added: "You never really know who they are. [The show is] an introspective look at the life of a superstar, and how lonely that can be."
Necessary Roughness continues tonight at 10/9c on USA.
