'The OC' star for 'Rebecca Kane' TV films

Kelly Rowan has signed to star in a series of television films as detective Rebecca Kane.

The character has been devised by writer Donald Martin, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The films will follow the adventures of Kane, a secretary to the Chief of Police, who indulges in amateur sleuthing.

Actress Rowan is known for playing Kirsten Cohen on The O.C. from 2003 to 2007 and has recently featured in episodes of CSI: Miami and Flashpoint.

Colossal Entertainment executive Graham Ludlow will produce the Rebecca Kane series, which is currently in development.
