Pierce denies 'Frasier' musical rumours

David Hyde Pierce has denied reports that there are plans for a Frasier musical.

Pierce played Niles in the sitcom, which ended in 2004.

Speaking to The Independent, he explained that the show should not be revived as a stage production.

"No, we don't want to do anything like that," he said. "It's something we're all very proud of and are happy to leave in syndication. Life goes on."

Pierce is currently starring in West End play La Bête with Mark Rylance and Joanna Lumley.
