Calabro: 'My Melrose character is different'

has admitted that his Dr Michael Mancini character is different on The CW
's Melrose Place
The 50-year-old, who is reprising the role that he played on the original Fox series from 1992 to 1999, said that the part has changed since the first incarnation went off the air.
He told E!
: "Michael Mancini now has globs and globs of money. He's got money, power and influence. Second, he's got this really pain-in-the-butt son (played by Sean Sipos) who's 22 and not afraid to go toe-to-toe with him."
Calabro also hinted that he may engage in an on-screen romance with Ashlee Simpson-Wentz
's Violet Foster character.
He said: "It obviously wouldn't be Michael Mancini without a hook-up, and he obviously has to hook up outside of his marriage… [so] it's always a possibility."
The actor will be joined on the update by former co-stars Laura Leighton
, Josie Bissett
and Daphne Zuniga
However, Calabro added that he did not know if Heather Locklear
will reprise her Amanda Woodward role, saying: "I know you think I'm in the know, but I'm not."Melrose Place
debuts tonight on The CW.
