'Supernatural' star joins 'Melrose Place'

Former Supernatural star Katie Cassidy has joined the cast of CW's Melrose Place remake, claims The Hollywood Reporter.

The actress, who is the daughter of The Partridge Family star David, will play ambitious publicist Ella Flynn.

The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants actor Michael Rady has also been cast as aspiring filmmaker Jonah Miller.

Oscar winner David Guggenheim, who directed An Inconvenient Truth, will helm the pilot episode, while One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn has been slated to pen the script.

Cassidy has previously appeared in Black Christmas and WB's 7th Heaven. She will next be seen in CBS's mystery series Harper's Island.
