'Big Bang Theory' Mayim Bialik Q&A: 'Sheldon taking Amy hand was bold'

The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik has described Sheldon's decision to take Amy's hand in the season finale as "bold".Speaking to Digital Spy at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, Bialik admitted that she has no idea what will happen next in the relationship.

"I really feel like the art of courtship has largely been lost, especially where I come from, so I think it's really sweet that we're showing a courtship," she said. "We're showing a relationship that's not in a hurry. Amy obviously would like to go faster than Sheldon, but that was a really, really sweet moment.
"And I think just as easily as that happened it can unhappen, and we can go back to the way things were before that happened."
Bialik also praised the relationship between Amy, Bernadette and Penny on the show, and revealed that she sometimes helps the writers because of her PhD in neuroscience.
"I'm pretty similar to Amy," she added. "I'm definitely on the spectrum of socially awkward. I'm not as fashion-challenged as Amy, even in my normal life when I'm not dressed by a stylist! But I think a lot of her sweetness and her trying hard is something that's definitely part of me and I do draw on that a lot for her."
The Big Bang Theory will return with a new season later this year.
I started watching this recently and i'm amazed by how good it actually is.
Bialik's character is very good, her and Sheldon together are an interesting combination. Sheldon taking her hand in the finale was quite big for Sheldon, people have said he's changing but i disagree entirely. He's always had the ability to be that kind of person, he just chooses the majority of the time not to be that person. I think he'll open up more, but it should be a slow process.

Loooove amy to pieces, she has made my laugh countless of times. Sheldon and her are just amazing, definatly two of the greatest sitcom characters ever thought up.

TBBT is the best sitcom to come out of the states in a long time. and it has turned the usual sitcoms on the head, i am a big fan of all the guys and the galls.
I think it is just getting better and better, this is the sit com that has ever really made me laugh and laugh.
Cant remember the last sitcom that has ever made me do that.

I love this show and I love Amy and her friendship with Penny as well as with Sheldon.
