'Doctor Who' series seven: BBC releases new pictures

Several images from the forthcoming seventh series of Doctor Who have been released by the BBC.Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill appear across a selection of set pictures and screenshots from the sci-fi show's first three episodes of series seven - 'Asylum of the Daleks', 'Dinosaurs on a Spaceship' and 'A Town Called Mercy'.
Rory (Arthur Darvill), the Doctor (Matt Smith) and Amy (Karen Gillan) face down an army of Daleks.
'Asylum of the Daleks' received its official premiere last night (Tuesday, August 14) at the BFI Southbank in London, with Smith, Gillan and Darvill among those in attendance.
An iconic poster for the premiere episode - created by Lee Binding - has also been released.

Doctor Who's seventh series starts soon on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US.

@aisey. sorry the rubbish DS reply button wont work. Where has the start date for the season been announced. There is nothing on the BBC's DW website!!! @DS in regards to your reply about names in brackets, I googled "the doctor" and guess what came up first!? Yep, The Doctor Who wikipedia. Next pitiful excuse for putting names in brackets.....especially when you can name the actors in the article!!

It hasn't been confirmed but the belief is, because the media pack was released today and Doctor Who was not listed as part of the BBC Media Centre update for 25th to 31st August, that the BBC will confirm in tomorrow's Media Centre update that Doctor Who will premiere on 1st September.
Also, considering how well it worked last year, it may be that the BBC want The Angels Take Manhattan to air on the same night as the Series Five premiere of Merlin.

How can you know that. That could be from any episode. They are not traveling constantly with the doctor in this series. They will be in all of the first 5 episodes, just taken from different points in time.

That could easily be from any point in the series. Also, he doesn't overlook the promo's that get released, that is the BBC PR's job. Stop blaming him for absolutely everything.

Several scenes this year will be at the Ponds. This could be The Doctor arriving or departing in episodes 2-4. Episode 5 is mostly set in New York.

It's definitely not from Amy and Rory's last scene judging by set reports. More than likely its from the beginning of Episode One.

To me it was just a picture of the TARDIS either arriving or leaving, it doesn't mean anything until you just said what you did which itself is the kind of spoiler Moffat was ranting about!!!

Why, on every picture, do DS feel the need to put the actors name in brackets after the character name, particularly for the Dr, Amy and Rory. We know who the actors are who portray the characters!

Not everyone knows their names and it helps with searches in future. Searching 'the Doctor' wouldn't be particularly fruitful whereas searching 'Matt Smith' would.

Looking at the rate at which the pictures and quotes are coming at us, i'm thinking Saturday 25th August(bank holiday weekend) will be the date for the Doctors return. Loving these pics, in particular the dusty daleks and the shattered eyestalk poster for Asylum. Can't wait!!!
