The next series of Doctor Who - Matt Smith's third - will debut on BBC One in August.

I enjoyed Matt smiths debut in " The Eleventh Hour" , but after that he has done little to keep my attention.
Don't like his wardrobe, it is crappy compared with the doctor before him. Some of the episodes with matt smith shine such as "Eleventh Hour" and The "Time of Angels" while other episodes just fail and are horrible, which may just be the fact that Steven Moffat who wrote ""Eleventh Hour" and The "Time of Angels" is a better writer than some of the other writers used for doctor who.
One problem I have with the new doctor who stories which started with the ninth doctor Christopher Eccleston is that the "cybermen" go from being an alien race from another planet into robots with human brains, they destroyed the "cyberman" character badly. Another example is "The silurians" which were a reptilian race and one of the greater foes, which are revamped and now they look more human than alien and now they were clothes, the silurians don't wear clothes !!! Also the daleks are nothing more than a laughing stock now, instead of having the doctor fight a hand full of daleks, they bring the daleks in by the millions and then the doctor easily defeats them as though they were nothing more than very weak robots who never stood a chance. If the bbc is going to hire a new doctor, why not kill the old one off with a bang, why not have a three part, yes not a 2 part but a 3 part episode in which the doctor gets killed on the 2nd one, and he regenerates into a new doctor on the third one.
And while we are at it, the episodes are too short, in fact here are the lengths of some of the original doctor who episodes, and no i am not naming every episode.
But I will name a few episodes from the first 7 doctors to give you an Idea how long doctor who was.
William Hartnell - An Unearthly Child (1 hr 35 minutes) , The Keys of Marinus ( 2hrs 27 minutes)
The Dalek Invasion of Earth ( 2hrs 28 minutes) , The Time Meddler (1hr 27 minutes)
(( as you can see the episodes ran from around 1hr 30 mins - 2 hrs 30 mins a piece)
Patrick Troughton - The Tomb of the Cybermen (1 hr 36 minutes), The Abominable Snowmen (2hrs 20 mins), The Highlanders ( 1hr 35 mins) ( episodes ran around 1hr 30 mins - 2 hrs 30 mins a piece )
Jon Pertwee - Terror of the Autons ( 1hr 35 mins) , Colony in Space ( 2hrs 26 min) , The Curse of Peladon
(1hr 37 mins) again we see episodes running around 1 hr 30 min - 2 hr 30 mins
Tom Baker - Genesis of the Daleks ( 2hrs 22 mins) , Revenge of the Cybermen (1hr 36 mins ), The Android Invasion ( 1hr 36 mins), The Seeds of Doom ( 2hrs 24 mins)
Peter Davison - Castrovalva ( 1hr 36 mins) , Four to Doomsday ( 1hr 37 mins) , Earthshock( 1hr 37 mins)
Colin Baker - The Twin Dilemma ( 1 hr 39 mins) , Attack of the Cybermen (1 hr 28 mins) , The Two Doctors (2hrs 14 mins)
sylvester mccoy - Time and the Rani - Parts 1-4 ( 1 hr 38 min) , Paradise Towers (1 hr 38 min),
Remembrance of the Daleks (1 hr 38 min)
And now the newer doctor who television programming
Christopher Eccleston - Rose ( 45 mins) , The Unquiet Dead (45 MINS) ,
David Tennant - School Reunion ( 45 mins) , The Girl in the Fireplace (45 mins)
Matt Smith - Victory of the Daleks ( 45 mins) , The Angels Take Manhattan ( 45 mins)
The newer episodes are to short, they kill the story and the character when they are this short.
They need to have 3 stories for each episode around 30 - 40 mins each for a total of 90 - 120 mins

Stop pretending you guys. You guys like to pretend that people are choosing Tennant as the best out of 11 actors. But people are VERY OBVIOUSLY choosing Tennant as the best out of 2 & a half actors. No one remembers or watches the original series - correction, only 5% of the people polled watch or remember the original Doctors.
So Tennant is better than the Northern Mitchell brother & Wayne Rooney/Gordon Ramsey look-alike. *clap ....*clap .... Big deal.

This vote is a travesty of science fiction.
