Madame Vastra had this week been rumoured to be returning to Doctor Who when images of her ally Jenny (Catrin Stewart) on set also appeared online.
The popular duo of Madame Vastra and Jenny made their first appearances in series six's 'A Good Man Goes to War', where they joined The Doctor, the Ponds and a Sontaran warrior in battling Madame Kovarian (Frances Barber).
Madame Vastra, Jenny and the Sontaran will be returning for a Mark Gatiss-penned episode, which is to air in 2013.

McIntosh denied that she was to appear again in Doctor Who last week, when she tweeted: "No-one's asked me [to come back]."
Dame Diana Rigg and her daughter Rachael Stirling will also be appearing in the Gatiss instalment, but the exact nature of their roles is not yet known.
Doctor Who kicks off series seven on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US with 'Asylum of the Daleks'.

This is totally outragous, A SILURIAN in a Dress. This is the highest insult I have ever experienced. When Stevan Moffat comes up with ideas like this, It's time to send him off to the nut house where he belongs. This truely is highly offensive

What's wrong with Vastra wearing a dress? She's living in Victorian London, she'd attract a lot of attention in the usual Silurian getup.
