Paul McGann has insisted that he has heard nothing official about Doctor Who's 50th anniversary in 2013.Speculation among fans about a multi-Doctor reunion episode for the anniversary has run rampant in recent months, and was only spurred when Tom Baker recently said he is willing to return to Doctor Who.

McGann, who played the Eighth Doctor, was asked if he has been contacted about the 50th anniversary while speaking to The Independent.
"No," he answered, adding: "I mean, I know it's imminent but no, there's been no invites to or sounding out taking place but maybe it will happen, we don't know."
McGann went on to admit that he's not actually very familiar with the revived Doctor Who series.
"I don't have a television. No. So, I don't watch anything," he explained.
"In fact some of my mates, particularly my gay mates, they say, 'How do you live? What do you do?' I've never seen an episode of Friends. I don't know who the newscasters are... I just got out of the habit."
He continued: "[I] Never watch myself. Sometimes you're made to watch yourself... I've just about got used to the sound of my own voice, doing voice works. But actors are like everyone else, why would you want to look at yourself? See yourself leaving a room?
"But I know Matt Smith and I saw him the other day. It's in safe hands, the kid's obviously brilliant, a really, really good choice to take it on."

McGann previously claimed that he would "love" the chance to play the Eighth Doctor on television again.
Earlier this week, former Doctor Who star Noel Clarke told Digital Spy that he doesn't expect to return as Mickey Smith for the anniversary.
Doctor Who kicks off series seven on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US later this year with the episode 'Asylum of the Daleks'.

Too be fair if you were going to do a 50th anniversary special, and your aim was to have all the remaining Doctors back, wouldn't you make sure they were available as soon as possible??
Even though it is just over a year off, there is no way that the previous doctors wouldn't know what is happening. Every single one of them has been vague.
I think the Moff should just give an official announcement and say yes or no. Its not fair on people who do want the classic Doctors back to keep on speculating. Otherwise the anniversary is going be one big damp squib.

Shame on the new series and Shame on the had writer - you would've thought he'd taken a hint to the anniversary idea of each one of the past actors for the Doctor sounds bloody curious for it. Damn what a fail... I can't watch it anymore it's a wreck.

The series that starts at the back-end of September is NOT the anniversary series - the anniversary series starts in Autumn 2013!!!

I think there should be a comedy sketch created where a over obessed doctor who fan takes all the actors who played the Doctor hostage and make them do a multi doctor episode using a digital camera. Kind of like that episode from one of Harry Enfields early comedy shows, I think Im right about there being a episode like that in the Harry Enfield shows

paul mcgann is one of my favourite doctors, in fact i would say his only rivals for me are eccleston and tennant - he deserves to be part of it.
