However, despite being the highest rated programme of the day, the show had almost 5m fewer viewers than the corresponding finale of ratings rival Britain's Got Talent.
The Voice UK has experienced a sharp decline in viewers over its 11-week run, rising to nearly 12m in its early audition stages before dropping to as low as 6.2m in recent weeks.
The falling ratings have led to rumours that all four judges will be replaced in the next series.
However, will.i.am has gone on the record to state that he would still love to be involved next year.

Apart from Tom Jones who interestingly enough has achieved the most success in his long career (will any of the other judges still be making music successfully at his age - I highly doubt it) the others were horrid human beings, full of their own self importance and extremely affected, which us why I stopped watching.

It began well but once the live finals began the show looked like it didn't have enough money behind it and was very much like less expensive talent shows that bbc1 have tried before. The voice often felt as if it was from back in the early noughties rather than here and now and ran out of any drama from the contestant eliminations and I do wonder if the way the contestants were presented is why people started to switch off. Itv really are very good at these types of shows the voice may have been more successful on a commercial channel.

The revolving chairs and blind audition were gimmicks. However the failure of the show for me was the lack of sensible criticism from the judges and the fact it was quite a dull, boring example of the talent reality genre.
