3.3m tune in for first Celeb BB eviction

The first live eviction show for this year's Celebrity Big Brother performed well for Channel 4, the latest viewing figures show.

The 9pm show, which saw Davina McCall announce that Katia Ivanova and Heidi Fleiss would be the first celebrities to leave the house, drew 3.31m (12.3%). Later, at 10.35pm, 3.24m (16.5%) tuned in for the eviction interviews.

Also on Channel 4 Friday night, the final part of Kevin McCloud: Slumming It put in 2.19m (8.1%) during the 8pm hour, and 8 Out Of 10 Cats drew 2.37m (10%) at 10pm.

Over on BBC One, QI grabbed 4.89m (18.1%) at 8.30pm, then 6.28m (23.4%) watched Silent Witness between 9pm and 10pm.

Mastermind and An Island Parish had 2.28m (8.5%) and 1.8m (6.7%) for BBC Two during the 8pm hour, then Empire Of The Seas: How The Navy Forged The Modern World took 2.3m (8.6%) at 9pm.

ITV1's new series Popstar To Operastar, which features celebrities including Danny Jones, Myleene Klass and Bernie Nolan, opened to 3.96m (15.4%) between 9pm and 10.30pm. Earlier, at 8pm, Dancing On Ice Friday logged 3.57m (13.3%).

Knight Rider managed 433k (1.6%) for Five at 8pm, then Wesley Snipes movie The Art Of War II: Betrayal averaged 1.02m (4.2%) between 9pm and 11pm.

Overall, BBC One edged primetime with an average share of 23.5% to ITV1's 23.2%. Channel 4 was third with 9.1% (+1: 0.9%), followed by BBC Two with 6.8%, and Five's 2.9%.
