He told OK!TV: "Well I think Big Brother worked - back in the day when I did the second one - when it was relatively normal people commenting on normal things. I think when they are casting it, cast it with relatively normal people and let the people on the show make the drama as opposed to interfering too much."

"I think it's amazing that Channel 5 have picked the show up so quickly, what would the British summer be like without Big Brother?! I will definitely continue to support the show, I love it and am thankful for the opportunities I have had because of it. As long as it's on the telly, I will watch it. I think the show will survive just fine without Davina, it's on a new channel; I imagine the format will be new so it should have a new host too. I think they should let me host it!"

"I think it's great and I'm very excited about it coming back! Summer just wouldn't be the same without it! Certainly a great buy for Channel 5. Big Brother will be more popular than ever."

"I'm not massively surprised to hear the news to be honest... The fact that Channel 5 have a couple of ex-housemates' shows coming out soon (yes, that is a plug for the new Channel 5 show which I'll be in this summer - ha ha!) and have been in talks since last summer made it a fairly obvious outcome. Though I have to say, I didn't expect it to start airing so quickly. Davina was the Big Mother of the Channel 4 version but yeah, I think it can survive without her. Let's face it, it's the freak show people tune into watch. I think a new presenter will send the message out that Channel 5 want to make the show their own. I'd love to see someone young, fresh and funky fronting it."

"It's great news that Big Brother is coming back. It was a massive part of British culture over the last ten years and deserves a fresh new start on Channel 5. I am so proud to call myself a Big Brother contestant as it changed my life and I hope others get the same opportunities I did!"

She told OK!TV: "I'm so excited I could wet myself. I'm going to have to pass on my crown. If anybody is thinking about auditioning, honestly I had the best time of my life in there. It was brilliant. I enjoyed every minute of it."

"£500,000 for winning Big Brother this summer. Now spending three months in a house of morons for £100,000 seems rather pointless. Do you think people will actually watch Big Brother on Channel 5, or has it been and gone? You are live on Channel 5, please do not swear! OK I apologise for the tweet. Give Big Brother a chance on Channel 5. As long as we don't have someone like Cameron as the winner it will be okay."

He told OK!TV: "I think we need a proper sexy year. I want there to be girls in there where I think, 'She's hot'. I want people to get together. There's too many freaks! There are people in there that if you walked down a dark alley you'd be like, 'I'm scared of you'. I want people in there that you would want as your mates. You need decent normal people. We've got to look at Big Brother now differently to how we looked at Big Brother ten years ago. It's a soap. The same way EastEnders runs every single day for a year. Why the hell can't Big Brother?"

Writing on the DS Forums: "If the reports of the £500k prize are true then hopefully they're throwing a pile of money at it 2 bring it screaming back 2 life. If it's gonna be cheap then let it rest in peace! Make no mistake about it this is gonna be Channel 5's best attempt at a CASH COW. They need this baaaad coz i can categorically deny EVER watching Channel 5 (sic)."
> Who should be the new Big Brother host?

it makes no difference what channel fund this show, C4 reeled out loads of tactics to boost viewers, such as having a plush diary room or modern ikea living room. it makes no difference as the quaility of the freaks inside remain the same.
the last series with The MOLE candidate was pretty dull and then the finale series with ex housemates did no better. I think C4 had to make it interesting by having past winners come back the only way to make people watch.
to be honest the last series I watched was when the council house family were in Jades Mother (druggy) and Co.
Jack Tweed (failed footballer)(ex-con). and not forgetting the irritating Jade Goddy who must be related to Katie price.

well I certainly won't be watching, I think big brother was good when it started but now its like a talentless old singer trying to make a comeback!

Davina has already ruled herself out of hosting it. Emma Willis should take over as she used to do BBLB. Davina should be a contestant of the new series on Channel 5 which will be celeb big bro. This passes the baton on nicely for channel 5 to take over and bring it forward in their own style! Also, Channel 4 forgot that EVIL BIG BROTHER woz supposed to be for one series only, series 3 and kept goin with that idea for the remainder of the series. Take it back to the old day. Let people buy as much alcohol as they want on the shopping list and let the fun times rolll........

I think getting the host right will be very important. I'd personally rather they went a bit bland (Emma Willis) than someone obnoxious (Brian Dowling). And please don't let George Lamb near any part of it.
