The Apprentice 2013: Leah Totton

After a gruelling round of interviews with Lord Sugar's closest business allies, Zissman and Totton were the last candidates standing, having impressed with their respective business plans.

Neil Clough, Francesca MacDuff-Varley and Jordan Poulton were all shown the dreaded firing finger by Lord Sugar in the semi-final, falling just short of this year's big prize.

Sugar said that he picked Totton and Zissman because he is "a little bit of a devil, and a gambler and risk-taker" and said that both candidates offered him an element of risk.

Totton, who is a trained doctor, wants to move into mobile cosmetics, while Zissman has a consumer business based around her experience in the bakery industry.

"Both a very big risk for different reasons, but life's all about risks. Let's see how they do in the final," said Sugar.

Karren Brady commented on the final two: "A good entrepreneur spots a gap in the market, which is what Luisa has done, or spots an emerging market, and that's what Leah has done.

"I can't tell you how pleased I am that your new business partner is going to be a woman."

Nick Hewer told Sugar: "[They are] two very different characters. Both of those girls could make money for you."

The Apprentice: The Final airs next Wednesday (July 17) at the earlier time of 8pm on BBC One.
