'Britain's Got Talent': The greatest ever auditions

You can expect some dancing dogs, a guitar-playing gypsy and a few dolphin impersonations on the launch episode of Britain's Got Talent series five this weekend. But what are the greatest BGT auditions of all time? The ITV1 reality show has produced some of the most memorable TV moments of the last decade with its buzzer audition process, and below are a selection of our personal favourites:

Dancing ferrets
Ant & Dec earn their paycheques when a gaggle of dancing ferrets run wild in the aisles back in 2008.



Rupert the Pig
BGT is well known for its dancing dogs, but this performing pig back in 2007 won our hearts. This was back when Simon Cowell lived up to his Mr Nasty billing as he cruelly scares the animal with the dreaded buzzer.



Fetch us the After Eights
After failing to break the World Record for Ferrero Rocher-eating in 2009, James Boyd came back stronger in 2010 with a box of After Eights and some Rocky-esque determination. Inspiring a million party trick imitations around the country, we want James back this year with M&Ms.



George Sampson returns
He missed out on the live shows one year earlier, but that didn't stop George Sampson coming back in 2008 for a second stab at glory, and with some fresh moves and a few more tricks up his sleeve, he blew us away.



Flawless are... flawless
Diversity may have ended up taking the series crown, but at the first round of auditions it was Flawless who really wowed us. Piers Morgan correctly pointed out after the final that if the running order had been slightly different, it could have been these guys with the BGT crown.



Who can beat SuBo?
What does it take to beat Susan Boyle? Something special like this...



Greeks do 'Riverdance'?
A fat bald Greek bloke running around the stage with his top off. It sounds awful, but it ended up making Stavros Flatley national superstars.



Before SuBo there was...
The shy Carphone Warehouse worker with a voice that can send tingles down your spine. Paul Potts was the original BGT rags-to-riches story and he's still going strong today.



SuBo strikes
The most famous talent show auditions of all time and the biggest success story from any Simon Cowell reality series. This is where it all started.
