Alesha Dixon has insisted that she wasn't 'poached' from Strictly Come Dancing. The singer exited the BBC One show earlier this year to join ITV1's Britain's Got Talent but said no one influenced her move.

"Nobody can be poached. I make my own decisions," Dixon told This Morning.
"It was a choice I was comfortable with, it felt right. You have to follow your gut instincts on things like that."
Dixon also addressed rumours that Simon Cowell wants her to join The X Factor if Kelly Rowland doesn't return.
"They haven't asked me," she said. "I couldn't sit next to Louis though, I'd have to sit next to Gaz - no, I'm only joking!"
Cowell apparently wants to poach Jessie J from The Voice UK following her success on the BBC show.

Reading comments from my USA facebook friends, they are asking the network to sack judge Len Goodman on the US version of Strictly called 'Dancing With The Stars'. He's upsetting a lot of people and getting constantly booed. They are questioning his job as a dance expert.

Why are people so bitter? She was given an opportunity, she took. She would me more stupid not to have.

Perhaps now is the time for a quick review of the expression 'poached' involving a dictionary, glove-puppets and a chalk board Ms Dixon?

I like Alesha, but surely she is aware that she will always be better known for her reality TV roles rather than what she has done in reality herself. Also, it's pretty clear that part of the reason she was hired by ITV was for her knowledge of BBC strategy in the autumn ratings war.
