Amanda Holden: Tom Jones may be spinning in grave next week - video

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has joked that it isn't worth watching Sir Tom Jones on rival talent show The Voice UK because he may not be alive for the second episode.Got Talent and the new BBC series The Voice will overlap for 20 minutes this weekend when both launch episodes air on Saturday night (March 24).
Watch Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden talking to Digital Spy about Britain's Got Talent:
When asked why viewers should miss the last 20 minutes of Tom Jones in his spinning Voice chair, Holden joked: "Because he might be spinning in his grave next week, so that's probably the best way."
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell mocked the BBC over the loss of Alesha Dixon from Strictly Come Dancing.
Talking about the broadcaster's feelings on her signing with ITV, he said sarcastically: "They are thrilled about it. They are thrilled... I say bring back Arlene [Phillips]. Bring back Arlene!"
Britain's Got Talent launches on Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.

Sounds to me like Simon and his band of followers are worried. Amanda's comment was ill judged and uncalled for. Simons triumph over poaching Alesha from SCD is laughable when you think about it....... how many people didn' want her on SCD in the first place, and how many will actually miss a singer judging a ballroom dancing competition?
Like many, I watched both shows last night. I recorded BGT as the amount of adverts they deem neccessary to cram in, is ridiculous. I suspect many folk did the same (does this affect the viewing figures?). BGT was the same as every other year, acts appearing that you felt surely somebody close to them should have had a quiet word in their ear and said DON'T DO IT! Thankfully there were no kids in this weeks helping, but no doubt they will be there in the weeks to come.
On the other hand the Voice was different, and different things often grab attention, but whether it can retain that attention, remains to be seen. Not sure how the live shows are going to work, but I just hope it doesn't morph into X-Factor and become all about the Judges/mentors/coaches, rather than the singers. :0)

Kirsty O'Mara - It's not an equality issue. The woman nearly died having the child and the child itself was poorly, yet within weeks she's back on set.

Jason D'Arcy Women are allowed to have a baby and go back to work you know. We are in the year 2012 aren't we?

Vile woman, I detest her. Her tongue is so far up Cowell's backside, she can tickle his tonsils.

Got they're so smug. And Holden's "joke" doesn't really make sense does it?
