Two Pints of Lager actor Will Mellor has declared his interest in joining a future series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

The former Hollyoaks star's only previous reality TV appearance was in 2003, when he won the first series of Comic Relief Does Fame Academy.

"I'm a Celebrity is my favourite reality show and I've really enjoyed the most recent one," he told PA.

"Every year I say I'd love to do it, which makes my wife laugh because she says I'm rubbish with everything. I hate spiders and camping and stuff like that. Maybe one day."

The 35-year-old continued: "The thing that really worries me is I'm not sure how it'd affect my career.

"I wouldn't want to go on it and get known as a celebrity, and then that ruin my acting work. I'm not sure my agent would be very pleased if I said I was going to do the next one, either!"

Meanwhile, Mellor revealed that he will be trying to find work in the US, assisted by Caryn Mandabach, executive producer of his latest BBC sitcom In With the Flynns.

"She's worked on loads of top American shows such as Roseanne, and we're going to see about maybe working over there," he added.
