Germany's shock Euro 2012 exit seen by 11.5m peak on BBC One

BBC One's coverage averaged 8.06m (36.9%) between 7pm and 10pm, reaching a 15-minute high of 11.5m from 9.15pm when the Germans pulled back a consolation goal.
Germany v Italy was slightly less popular than Spain's dramatic penalty shoot-out win against Portugal on Wednesday (June 27), but nevertheless gave the BBC's flagship channel a huge lead in peak time.
Rafael Nadal's surprise early exit from Wimbledon boosted BBC Two, which took 1.84m (9.1%) between 5.50pm and 10.15pm for its extended tennis coverage.
Over on ITV1, Tonight (2.32m/10.6%) and You've Been Framed (1.8m/7.8%) aired in the 8pm hour, while a Benidorm repeat had 1.81m (7.6%) at 9pm (+1: 164k/0.9%).
Channel 4's Country House Rescue interested 1.28m (5.7%) at 8pm (+1: 158k/0.7%), then The House the 50s Built mustered 900k (3.8%) from 9pm (+1: 149k/0.8%).
Big Brother was Channel 5's best-rated programme with 1.38m (7.2%) for its latest highlights show, prior to which 1.2m (5%) watched Extraordinary People.
Overall, BBC One thrashed ITV1 in primetime with 34.6% versus 13% (+1: 0.7%). BBC Two earned third place with 8%, ahead of Channel 4's 4.4% (+1: 0.6%), and Channel 5's 4.1% (0.2%).

how is channel 5 behind channel 4...wen clealrly channel 5 are beating them in the primetime hours..the house that was built in the 50's..in 2012...aye lets watch that...

How is Channel 4 ahead of Channel 5 when their primetime audience share and ratings were lower than Channel 5's? Is this a misprint? It happens a lot on here, someone should really proof read their articles.

it prob had over 2 million for the 5th set but the 1.84 million was average from 17.50-22.15

A lot of people did think that Germany would win, that's why it's a shock exit
