Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Note 2 during its Mobile Unpacked 2012 event at the IFA electronics trade show. The hybrid tablet boasts a range of improvements over its predecessor, including an enhanced S Pen stylus, a larger display, and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Powered by an impressive 1.6GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor and 2GB of RAM, the device features a 5.55-inch HD super AMOLED display with a wide-screen 16:9 aspect ratio.
The revised S Pen stylus improves navigation, enabling users to pull off a range of tricks and multi-task with greater ease.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 also includes an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 2-megapixel snapper on the front for video conferencing calls. A 3,300mAh battery will provide more efficient power usage.

The handset measures in at 80.5 x 151.1 x 9.4mm and weighs 180g. It will be available in marble white and titanium grey at launch, with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models available.
At Mobile Unpacked 2012, it was confirmed that filmmaker Wim Wenders has become creative ambassador for the Galaxy Note line.
The Buena Vista Social Club director is overseeing a project called Recreate Berlin, which challenges filmmakers to develop short films inspired by the German capital using the hybrid tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be released worldwide in October.

I feel like the years of innovation around mobile devices (2006-2010) are behind us now and we are being continuously asked to fork out £500 plus for incremental changes. Perhaps the samsung vs apple ruling is a good thing and might lead to these companies innovating agian.

It's called "choice" though.
Are you trying to say that the Mobile's of today are comparable to the mobiles of 2010??

all i can see is another patent row between samsung and apple. i just wish the person who invented the rectangle would just ask for money from the pair of money grabbers. also microsoft could sue for patents coz they were in the smartphone/tablets b4 it came popular

I bet the s4 will have the same specs i cant get a new contract for about a year and a half as i have the s3 so i will be staying with the s3 till the s5 comes out which i bet will have a 2.1 ghz quad core and 3 gigs of ram.

Are you kidding? The Note is a slight upgrade on the S3. The S4 and Note 3 will be the next "leap" on tech.

Lovely piece of kit. I hope Apple aren't thinking about an iPad minias that could be seen as copying.

Well Apple wouldn't use something as quaint as a stylus so, no you wouldn't see Apple copying this piece of kit.
